Georgian Milk Bank Opens
A new chapter in neonatal care has begun in Georgia.
We are proud to announce that the Human Milk Bank in Batumi, Georgia, at M. Iashvili Maternal and Child Central Hospital is now operational, bringing hope to the most vulnerable newborns and their families.
The bank will provide safe, pasteurized donor human milk to high-risk infants cared for in neonatal intensive care units and perinatal centers across the Adjara region, giving many babies the best possible start when their own mother's milk is not available.
The official opening ceremony, of the first Human Milk Bank in Georgia, will be held on July 10th, bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Health of Georgia, the Ministry of Health of Adjara region, members of Parliament, healthcare professionals, and distinguished guests to celebrate this important milestone for neonatal care.
The Human Milk Bank was also presented during the regional conference of Georgian Association of Neonatologists on 28 June with the participation of Professor Alexandra Weselovska and representatives of the Government of Adjara, reflecting a shared commitment to improving the health and future of our youngest and vulnerable patients.
